Layouts, Multi-Chart & Comparing Assets
TradingView's layout system lets you save complete chart configurations and view multiple charts simultaneously. This is essential for multi-timeframe analysis and monitoring multiple markets at once.
Saving Chart Layouts
- 1Set up your chart with your preferred indicators, drawings, and settings
- 2Click the layout dropdown in the top-right area of the chart
- 3Select "Save Layout As" and give it a descriptive name
- 4Your entire setup is saved — indicators, drawings, symbol, timeframe, and settings

Multi-Chart Layout (Paid Feature)
Paid plans allow you to display 2-8 charts simultaneously on one screen. Click the layout icon in the top-right toolbar to choose grid arrangements (2x1, 2x2, 3x1, etc.). Each chart can show a different symbol, timeframe, or both.
Sync Features
Multi-chart synchronization options:
- Symbol sync — all charts change to the same symbol together
- Crosshair sync — moving your cursor on one chart shows the same position on others
- Time sync — scrolling one chart scrolls all charts
- Drawing sync — drawings appear on all charts with the same symbol
Comparing Assets on One Chart
Use the Compare feature (+ icon in toolbar) to overlay multiple symbols on the same chart. You can choose to display them as overlaid lines (good for correlation analysis) or in separate panes. This is perfect for comparing stock performance, sector analysis, or correlation studies.
