Opening a Chart for Any Asset
TradingView provides access to charts for virtually any tradeable asset in the world. Whether you're interested in Apple stock, Bitcoin, EUR/USD forex pair, or Gold futures, you can pull up a chart in seconds.
Using the Symbol Search
- 1Click on the symbol/ticker box in the top-left corner of the chart (or press the "/" key as a shortcut)
- 2Type the name of the asset or its ticker symbol (e.g., "AAPL" for Apple, "BTCUSD" for Bitcoin)
- 3A dropdown will appear showing matching results from different exchanges
- 4Select the specific exchange you want — for example, NASDAQ:AAPL vs NYSE:AAPL
- 5The chart will immediately load with the selected asset
Understanding Exchange Prefixes
TradingView displays symbols with exchange prefixes to help you identify the exact data source. For example, BINANCE:BTCUSDT shows Bitcoin on Binance, while COINBASE:BTCUSD shows it on Coinbase. The prices may differ slightly between exchanges.
Common exchange prefixes:
- NASDAQ — US tech stocks (AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL)
- NYSE — US stocks (JPM, WMT, DIS)
- BINANCE — Cryptocurrency pairs
- COINBASE — Cryptocurrency (USD pairs)
